Before you read on-- I AM NOT DOING A MANGA OF TWILIGHT. I REPEAT- I AM NOT DOING A MANGA OF TWILIGHT! IT WOULD LITERALLY KILL ME AND I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR PATIENCE. THIS IS JUST A PROJECT I WANT TO DO ON COVERS Thank you.
Sorry that this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo late! I told myself that I had to finish this picture before school started (which starts Monday, to my biggest disappointment. I thought that it was Wednesday. ) And I really want to work on other pictures as well. I need a little bit of a break from Twilight for a bit.
Anway, on with the description on this piece of work. I had an idea around....November, to do this. My goal is to draw most of the characters from Twilight that play a key role to the story. And then I thought "Why don't I make it look as though they're on a manga cover? That'd be cool."
This has been the absolute hardest and most time consuming picture ever! First of all, I had the covers on the opposite sides, so I had to switch that. Oh, and I redrew Bella. It used to be just her head all the way to her chest, but she looked weird to me (her forehead was too small (I'm picky, okay?)) but then I decided on a whole body image. Basically, the manga's that have inspired this cover have been 1-The Wallflower (sparked the idea) 2- Fruits Basket (full body image) 3-Pita Ten (Colors that surround the characters) 4- Full Moon and Nana (Pictures on the Back)
But now that I have a definite layout of everything (and all that needs to be changed is the front cover, numbers, and descriptions) the rest of the pictures should be easier.
For some reason, Bella has been a pain for me to draw as of late. And so has Edward And I blame my Edward block on New Moon because I was deprived of Edward for a good week. Now that I'll read Eclipse I hope that my creativity on Edward will come back to me. I couldn't decide on the color of Bella's clothes, but I decided on what I myself own. I own the shoes she's wearing, but rather than blue, it's pink, and the jacket is similar to one I got for Christmas, but minus the white strings and hood. I imagine her to dress in casual, laid back clothes. Not too tight nor too baggy. Sort of like me, actually. ^-^
So many changed were made to this. Bella's cover was so difficult because I couldn't decide on a "right" color for her since, as she said in Twilight, "it changes often" and I asked about it and she said blue, although I was saving Carlisle for blue, but he'll be a darker shade, so she's light blue. As Amanda said, "Edward likes her to wear blue." And she wore blue when she went to go visit his family, so it works. :3
And sorry for the lame picture on the back of the cover. I've been in a real sketching mood, and I had it colored, but the hottie looked so awkward, and the colors were too happy, so it's a sketch colored. I think it goes well.
See, I feel that, since Bella is still human and doesn't know the secret quite yet about the vampires in this volume) her vision of them is "sketchy" and not detailed. She doesn't know what to think about Edward quite yet. So that's why I went along with this.
In each volume (if this were actually made) there'd be three chapters from each book. So in this volume, it'd be the Preface (since it's so short) 1. First Sight 2. Open Book and 3. Phenomenon.
There was more I had to say, but I can't remember. I think it'd be awesome if there were a Twilight Manga. I'd buy 5 copies of each.
I want to try doing two characters a month. Next will be Edward (but not for awhile. I have so many other pictures to catch up on.)
Please check out my other Twilight fanarts, please! Thank you to the many of you who fav and comment! This is to all of you who watch me, and yet I haven't been doing a lot of Twilight picture.
